About Us
Our journey with Bernese Mountain Dogs began in 2007 when we brought home our first BMD, Heidi v Bearcreek. We had no idea at the time just how much she would change our lives. Within a few months, we could tell there was something truly special about her — a presence, temperament, and connection that made us want to learn more.
As our love for the breed grew, so did our commitment to researching and understanding everything we could about Berners. We visited breeders, asked endless questions, spent hours reading and learning, and did out best to educate ourselves on the breed's history, structure, temperament, and health. The more we discovered, the more we knew this was the path we wanted to follow.
Through that research, and with recommendations from experienced breeders, we were introduced to our first stud dog, Werlwind's Young at Heart "Jake", from Cindy Switzler. We will always be grateful to Cindy — not only for trusting us with Jake, but also for her mentorship and support during our early years. Her guidance helped set the foundation for what Tailspin Bernese Mountain Dogs would become, and we appreciate everything she has done for him and for us.

Where Form Meets Function
We live on 40 beautiful acres just 7km west of Leduc, Alberta — plenty of space of our dogs to run, train, and enjoy the life every Berner deserves. Our human family includes our 3 grown children, and our home is shared with our much-loved crew of 7 Bernese Mountain Dogs.
Our goals As breeders, our goals are simple but important to us: health, temperament, longevity, and adherence to breed standards. While we enjoy showing our dogs and celebrating their accomplishments, they are first and foremost our companions. Every one of our Berners lives in our home as a valued member of our family.
We are committed to doing our part to improve the overall health and longevity of the breed. This means completing all recommended health clearances, carefully researching pedigrees, and making thoughtful, responsible breeding decisions, Our focus is always on producing sound, healthy puppies with the wonderful temperament the Bernese Mountain Dog is Known for.
